About Mary
Mary is a practising registered nurse with 49 years experience, 9 years experience of Lymphoedema and trained at the Lymphoedema Training Academy. Previously employed by an NHS Trust, in a Lymphoedema Service, Mary says she is passionate about providing a first class service for clients living with Lymphoedema and Lipoedema. Mary also carries out MLD prior to and after aesthetic surgery including abdominoplasty (tummy tuck, fleur-de-lis), liposuction, breast augmentation, mastopexy.
Additionally, Mary is a qualified reflexologist MAR ITEC Diploma, Level 3 plus, Reflexology Lymph Drainage. She initially trained at The Jackie Hamilton School of Therapies Norwich.
Mary is a member of the Association of Reflexologists (AOR) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
Services & Fees
MLD (Manual Lymphatic Drainage) - Initial consultation for up to 2 hours (includes a treatment) history taking/assessment and to establish if there are any contraindications to carrying out MLD - £30.
The type and amount of swelling will influence the number of treatments recommended. See below for further fees.
FRT (Functional Reflex Therapy) - supports the mental health and wellbeing of children and adults with high levels of anxiety and stress. Plus, autism and autistic spectrum disorders, intellectual difficulties, neurological disorders and communication issues within the education system and a variety of other settings with 1:1 reflexology therapeutic intervention.

Frequently asked questions
A specialised type of skin movement that can help your lymphatics reduce lymphoedema. MLD is comfortable, rhythmic and slow skin movements.
Lymphoedema may occur when the lymphatics are compromised by surgery, trauma, infection or disease. Lymphoedema can also occur in a condition called Lipoedema if the Lymphatics are compromised.
Also, MLD is reported to have additional benefits of calming the sympathetic nervous system, creating an overall sense of well-being, balancing the nervous system. Plus, it is believed that MLD stimulates an analgesic response in some individuals.
Kinesio taping can assist lymphatic flow by gently 'lifting' the skin to allow lymph to drain more readily. It can be applied for: lymphoedema, lipoedema, post operative oedema plus, it can also support muscles during activity.
It is a complementary therapy which is non-intrusive and is based on developed theories over centuries. It is believed that after working various points on the feet or hands (can be face or ears too) this aids well-being and relaxation.
This assists the compromised lymphatics and supports this system in our bodies. Plus it helps rebalance the nervous system and much more.
